STEP 1: GOOGLE SERVICES
Setting up a Google My Business / Plus account correctly is the most important aspect of any ‘Local’ SEO work. It lets Google know where you are. The aim is to occupy one of the 3 Google Places spots below the map on the search results page – if you can attain the first position that’s even better.
EVERYTHING matters when you set up a Google My Business account; the business categories you choose, your trading area, how and what you name your photos, business description and most importantly, business name, address & phone number.
It’s not only essential for your SEO work, a Google My Business account also records a lots of important information. Every 7, 3o or 90 days it will tell you how many people clicked through to your website, used it for driving directions to your business and, best of all … how many people phoned your business.
Occupying one of the 3 Google Places listings also makes it easy for people to find you and call you on their mobile devices.
Other Google Services connected included Google Analytics & a Google Map (associated with the business – not just the road/street).
WGCP is unlikely to ever replace Adelaide Caravan Park from the No. 1 Google Places position for reasons of physical location and business name, however it has occupied one of the top 3 Places for many years. This listing has been viewed in search results more than 900,000 times (without paying 1 cent to Google).
STEP 2: MOBILE FRIENDLY WEBSITE
A new, mobile friendly website was developed to showcase the caravan park and its amenities. As part of this process a photo shoot was undertaken to ensure we had high quality images and we upgraded the RMS booking system to make online booking a much more user friendly experience. Traffic to the website and – most importantly – online enquiries increased significantly. The Windsor Gardens Caravan Park website has one of the lowest ‘bounce rates’ we have ever encountered – less than 10%!
A website really only needs to achieve two things to be successful;
STEP 3: TRIP ADVISOR
A TripAdvisor account was also set up and optimised to gain the Park more prominence on the world’s No. 1 travel site. This is now starting to accumulate customer reviews.
SEO SUCCESS STORY – OUTCOME
Windsor Gardens Caravan Park has occupied one of the top 3 Google My Business / Plus positions, since the account was created and its SERP listing also appears on the first results page for the search term ‘caravan park adelaide’. Not 1c has been invested in SEO work since the Google My Business, Trip Advisor & other social media accounts were set up.
As at 24/12/2015 Windsor Gardens Caravan Park’s Google My Business Plus Account has been viewed more than 900,000 times – without spending 1 cent with Google!
